Lots going on around 3DHobbyShop right now!
Andrew Jesky and the SLICK
3DHobbyShop is proud to announce the new SLICK 540 ARF, designed by 2008 ETOC and XFC Champ Andrew Jesky. It's been great to work with Andrew this year, developing his new airplane with him. The SLICK is modeled after the new full-size SLICK aerobatic aircraft which is a high-tech single-place aircraft made from composite materials. Andrew chose the Slick for its high-performance shape, which gives the model stunning performance. The first Slick 3DHobbyShop and Andrew Jesky are doing together is an electric, 51" in wingspan. It has Andrew's personal favorite airfoil design, along with all of the durability and convenience features 3DHS customers have come to expect. As for flight performance, just watch the video to get an idea of how spectacular this airplane is.
The Slick includes one-piece molded carbon fiber landing gear, a composite-reinforced landing gear mounting plate, a pre-drilled and pre-nutted firewall, strong carbon spar tube with thumb-screw wing attachment, wing bags, genuine ultracote covering, aluminum wheels axles, latching one-piece hatch with pre-installed canopy...and the list goes on. You won't find a better electric ARF in this size class, period. Check out our product page for pre-ordering information. Slicks are due into our warehouse during September and are selling fast!
Look for more Slicks from AJ Design and 3DHS in different sizes coming soon!
Scott Stoops and the Sukhoi

Full-Scale IAC aerobatic pilot and author Scott Stoops, developer of the awesome Extra SHP line of aircraft, has done it again with a fantastic Precision/3D Sukhoi 26MX ARF. Since Scott owns a full scale Sukhoi 26MX, he knew exactly how he wanted the model to fly. Watch the video to see and hear Scott's philosophy behind this high-performance airframe.
The Sukhoi 26MX comes in two sizes, 49" and 57" wingspans. Each size is available in two color schemes, scale Red and Fantasy Racing Blue. They all come with molded one-piece carbon fiber landing gear, composite-reinforced landing gear plate, carbon spar tube, airfoiled tail surfaces, latching one-piece hatch with pre-installed canopy, molded fiberglass cowl with scale vents, scale clear side sight windows, ball-link hardware, aluminum wheel axles...and much more. The Sukhois are *fast* and very precise, excelling at precision maneuvers and also great for hardcore 3D flying. The 57" Sukhoi also includes parts to install a .60-82 glow engine if desired.
The Sukhois are due into our warehouse in September, and pre-ordering is available on our Sukhoi product pages - order yours before they are all gone!
1st annual Fly-Low-In

The 1st annual 3DHobbyShop Fly-Low-In on August 2-3 was a great success! Although the high temps both days were over 105def F, approx 50 pilots had a blast and did a LOT of flying LOW. Check out the Target Practice Video and Tail-touch Video to get some idea of the great time we had...more videos coming on FlightPass. Thanks to the 114th Aero Squadron Wendell, Walt, James, Jeff, Ronnie, Mike, the AWESOME grillmaster and everyone else for a GREAT job!

Designed to use 3S 1320-2100 lipoly packs and 250-300Watt motors, the Edge 40" is a fantastic flyer - Watch the Video - and Watch the second Video.
Next up is the 47" Edge - Designed for 3S 2000-2500 lipoly packs and 100-130gram motors, 350-450 Watts. Awesome 3D! Watch the Video!

87" Extras selling like hotcakes - More in build

The 87" Extra SHP, developed by Scott Stoops, started shipping during July, and the white version is already sold out. We still have some reds in-stock (As of August 13), and more whites are being built with an expected November ship date. Customers are doing maidens of these aircraft every weekend now, and the rave reviews are coming in. With 1475 sq. inches of wing area and the famous "Stoops Wing" featuring Scott's personal favorite aerobatic airfoil, the 87" SHP is a joy to fly. With carbon/carbon wings and stab spar systems, carbon main gear, carbon tail-wheel, all hardware, Ultracote covering and much, much more, the Extra is a steal at $649. Look for an even larger SHP during 2009!
Aspera V2 Coming!
The Aspera 46" pattern plane is temporarily gone, so we can re-design it and bring out the V2, hopefully before Christmas '08. We're leaving the aerodynamics alone (if you own one, you understand why!) and working on convenience/durability features...too much to list. Watch this space for updates! Watch for more pattern offerings in other sizes from 3DHS in 2009!
